Heart Health Month
February is Heart Health Month! Show your support by wearing red on National Wear Red Day®, February 2nd.

African Americans have higher rates of heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke than other racial groups. High blood pressure, obesity and diabetes are common conditions that increase the risk of heart disease and stroke.
​Positive lifestyle recommendations:

Eat less salt: Reduce your sodium intake by limiting prepackaged and restaurant meals.

Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables: Focus on portion control and lower fat content.

Get active: If you're not already active, get moving.


37th Annual Black Nurses Day on Capitol Hill
Mark your calendars for the 37th Annual Black Nurses Day on Capitol Hill on February 6th, 2025. This important event brings together Black nurses from across the country to advocate for health equity and policy changes.


SCBNA Annual Tea Party
The theme this year is "Burnout of the Caregiver." Caregivers give so much of themselves and often feel unseen and under appreciated.
You don't want to miss this afternoon featuring guest speakers who will share tips for identifying signs of and prevention of burnout and, of course there will be, tea!

Ramadan Mubarak
Ramadan, a holy month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims begins on February 28th or March 1st, 2025 (based on sighting of the new moon). Everyday from dawn until dust Muslims worldwide fast. We extend our warmest wishes for a blessed Ramadan to our members and all who observe.
